Jack Haiti, alias Bernhard Kanczer born and raised 1979 in Munich (Germany). His first contact with the electronic music was through the austrian radio station FM4. In the middle of the nineties he listened each weekend to the "laboum deluxe" radio show on FM4 with well known guest dj`s like Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig and many more. The most influences came from Detroit Techno and Chicago House and some other talented french dj`s at this time. Jack Haiti was fascinated of the new sound from people like
Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Jeff Mills, Kenny Larkin, Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen, DJ Sneak, Todd Terry, Paul Johnson, Jack De Marseille, Laurent Garnier, I-Cube, Daft Punk and many more... From now on Jack Haiti was decaying in electronic music. After collecting a lot of records (more than 15.000 in the meanwhile) he began starting with dj mixing in 1998. Later on, with his reputation and knowledge of electronic music he acquired a position at Germany`s leading house label Milk & Sugar Recordings, where he became Label Manager in 2001. After first steps in the professionell music business he was fascinated of all the background work in a record label and decided 4 years later (2005) to build up an own label & booking agency called Haiti Groove. Soon he worked with famous artists like Claude Young, DJ Pierre, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Dr. Kucho!, Thomas Gold, Sergio Flores, Denis The Menace and many more. In January 2007 Jack Haiti decided to start a second record label named "BeatModul Records". On both labels there have been released more than 70 releases including 5 own productions by Jack Haiti. Haiti Groove brand belongs to to one of the most uprising electronic music labels. Also the booking department contains to one of the biggest artist agencies in germany. Jack Haiti is still peforming as DJ on selected gigs. New productions for 2010 are in the pipeline. Keep your eyes open.
